Tonight I discovered a trendy restaurant I sometimes enjoyed in my neighborhood has closed. It seems to have happened overnight, although I'm sure the plan unfolded some time ago. The signage is already removed from the building and all that remains is a goodbye letter posted near the entrance.
There's no mention of the closing in our local paper or gazettes. I'm not surprised about that since a metropolitan area newspaper is not going to cover ever business closure. Still, this particular restaurant is in an upscale dining area in a nice part of town and I know it will be missed.
I think there's a story here and possibly a chance for me to gain readership, too. I decided to dig deeper and sent a letter to the restaurant's management offering my local blog to share anything they would like with patrons. I am hoping for a response. I'm especially interested in the circumstances behind their departure. I will share whether or not they respond with a link to my subsequent article.
I've already written a short post on the closure and used the restaurant's name in the title. Hopefully someone searching google about the closure might click my link.
